This volume is considered the introduction to Martinus' work, collectively known as The Third Testament.

Martinus Thomson started writing under the pseudonym Peter Mikkelson and took his self-described "cosmic" initiation in 1921.

The Martinus Institute in Denmark has confirmed the date of original Danish publication.

The cover shown below is that of the first English language edition (with dust jacket; Martinus Institute, 1967).
