Sai Baba is "a cosmic Avatar Who works in close relation to Maitreya and His mission", according to Benjamin Creme (1986), Maitreya's Mission, Vol.I, p.63. "Sai Baba's relation to Hierarchy might best be described as that of a loving father and paternal helper" (Benjamin Creme, Maitreya's Mission, Vol.II, p.59.)

This book is the first main introduction to the West of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi, by theosophist Howard Murphet. It details many riveting facts of Murphet's remarkable encounters with Sathya Sai Baba in the late 1960s. (Arthur Osborne's book The Incredible Sai Baba (Rider & Company, 1958) was the first introduction to the West of Sai Baba of Shirdi, the first of the three Sai incarnations.)
