Notes

This classic in esoteric literature is a collection of letters written by the Masters Koot Hoomi and Morya to noted theosophist A. Percy Sinnett, editor of The Pioneer, a leading Anglo-Indian newspaper, and author of Esoteric Buddhism. Not all letters, though, are genuine -- some were forged [but not by HPB]. (Benjamin Creme (1993), Maitreya's Mission Vol.II, p.556; and Share International No.3, 1997, p.23.)
The original letters were housed in the Manuscripts Room of the British Museum before they were moved to the British Library (shelfmark 45286). The British Library website shows a photograph of one of the Mahatma letters (No. XCII) signed "K.H." and dated 23 November 1882, the text of which can be found on page 419 of this edition.

The front cover of this edition is embossed with the signatures of the Masters K.H. and Morya in gold.

Referenced in Benjamin Creme (1979), The Reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom, p.249 and in (1996), The Ageless Wisdom Teaching, p.62.
