Notes
In her letters Helena Roerich, a 4.0 degree initiate, elaborates on the Agni Yoga teachings and the Theosophical teachings, clarifying and expounding many details. She also comments on books she is sent by students.
"It is said that on the higher planets there are fewer animals and they are far more perfect. Thus there are no insects and beasts of prey on Venus. There exists a veritable kingdom of flights. People fly, birds fly, and even fish. And the birds understand human speech. The colors of fishes and of birds’ feathers attain amazing combinations and beauty." (pp. 496-497) Interestingly, in his account of the planet 'Ophir' (Venus?) in Ami, Child of the Stars, Enrique Barrios describes how his protagonist Pete witnesses people flying.
